Make document review easier to inspect

Review Tables provide a structured way to organize information found during case-file review. A table is useful only when each entry can be checked against its source document and context.

Structure a review around a question

Choose columns that serve the task: date, event, source document, page, issue, legal significance, disputed status and supporting passage. Avoid collecting fields that do not help the review or next decision.

Keep every entry traceable

Record the document and page for a proposed fact or passage. Preserve the extracted wording and review it against the source; do not treat an AI-generated paraphrase as a quotation.

Identify gaps and conflicts

A review can surface inconsistent dates, missing responses, contradictory documents and allegations without supporting evidence. Mark these as questions for investigation rather than resolving them through inference.

Use tables with the chronology

Date-focused rows can feed a chronology, while evidence and authority tables support strategy and drafting. Confirm the original record before relying on the organized output. See the Matter workflow.
