NyayStack · Indian litigation workspace
Indian legal research with the case file in view
NyayStack helps advocates move from a legal question to candidate authorities and the judgment text available for review. It is a research aid; counsel decides what is binding, current and suitable to cite.
Start with the issue and forum
State the legal issue, relevant facts, court and procedural setting. These details help frame search language and prioritize potentially controlling authorities. If the jurisdiction or event date is uncertain, identify that gap before treating a result as applicable.
Find candidate judgments
Search can expand the wording of a question and retrieve candidate cases through sources configured for the workspace. Indian Kanoon results are returned from the connected provider when its API is configured and available; provider failure or missing coverage should be treated as a limitation, not as proof that no authority exists.
Read before relying
Inspect the judgment itself, identify the decided issue and relevant passage, and check court, date and bench details. A search match or AI summary does not establish the ratio or current precedential status.
Keep research with the Matter
Save useful research alongside the Matter record and source documents. This preserves context for later drafting and review while respecting workspace permissions. Learn about Matters.
